December 2011 Bulletin

Congratulations to all the new officers who were elected and installed on November 7th.  This will be another great year for Sylvania Pyramid.  Not needing past masters in our progressive line is a testament to our brother’s commitment to masonry and our lodge.

We are planning several fun events outside of lodge this year to promote brotherly love.  Don’t be surprised if you get a call to participate or for a little help.

I want you to enjoy coming to lodge for non-ritual stated meetings, so it is my goal that meetings will last no longer than 60 minutes.  We will be utilizing committees effectively this year to accomplish that goal.

Won’t you come back to your blue lodge and rediscover why you joined masonry?

Fraternally ,

January 2012 Bulletin

The holidays are coming to an end this season and Sylvania Pyramid is getting ready for another successful inspection season.  The gaunlet...or gavel has been thrown down at the Past Masters convocation.  Who will beat Sylvania Pyramid this year in inspection attendance?  First inspection is Weston Lodge on Monday, Jan 2 at 7:00p (no dinner).
Brethren, we need you help!  We have about 30% of the lodge members that have not paid their dues yet this year.  If you got a little busy and forgot over the holidays, that is OK, just please take a few minutes and remit your dues.  Without dues, we wouldn't be able to continue to promote masonry and keep the lights on.  If you are struggling and need help, please call our Secretary and Charity chairman, Mel Micham at 419-885-8463.  If you have a little extra to give, promote brotherly love by remitting a little bit more than your dues to help a fallen brother.  That is what masonry is all about!
Inspections in January: All Inspections start at 7:00p.m. "Keep the Gavel Tour"
Monday, Jan 2 - Weston - EA (no dinner)
Thursday, Jan 5 -  Paragon - MM (dinner 6p.m.)
Tuesday, Jan 10 - Genoa - MM (dinner 6p.m.)
Monday, Jan 16 - Robinson Locke - EA (no dinner)
Monday, Jan 30 - Monticello - EA (no dinner)
Tuesday, Jan 31 - Grand Rapids - MM (no dinner)
Won't you come back to your blue lodge and rediscover why you joined masonry?

November 2011 Bulletin

While our Worshipful Master is away in Florida, your Senior Warden will be taking the reigns for a few weeks.  Congratulations to brother Bruce Alcock for perfect inspection attendance for 5 years!  Brother Alcock has been instrumental in helping Sylvania Pyramid win the traveling gavel award for 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010 and again this year for 2011.   At the district awards night on Thursday, September 29th, Sylvania Pyramid lodge was recognized with a lodge of distinction award and Bruce Alcock for perfect attendance for all inspections.  Also, the traveling gavel was presented to our lodge to be kept until inspection begins again in January.

We will have elections of officers on Tuesday November 8th and we will have our traditional oyster stew this year.  I challenge each brother to call and invite another brother who hasn't been to our blue lodge in while to attend our annual elections.  Reservations for dinner can be made by contacting our Secretary, Mel Micham.  On November 22nd, we will have our annual awards night.  Please come out to support our brothers who will be presented with their 25, 40 and 50 plus pins.
